Trustees On Tour and The Nimble Conference

On Wednesday 16 September, a group of the NTN Trustees got together for a tour of two of the Centres, a strategic meeting, and to attend the Nimble Conference.
Despite the fact that the Trustees are frequently in communication with each other, most of them have not met in person.
The Trustees in the working group were Mark Suddes, Chair; Caz Blake-Symes, Vice Chair; Bernard Elwen, Secretary; and Howard Cheetham, Lead Oxygen Specialist.
The first visit was to The Brightwell in Bristol. This is Caz and Howard’s “Home Centre”, and Mark travelled from the Suffolk Centre in Ipswich to join them and The Brightwell team for lunch and a centre tour.
Doro Pasantes, CEO at The Brightwell, showed everyone the impressive Centre, including their hyperbaric chamber and extensive Physiotherapy department. This was also an opportunity for Mark to meet Geoff Mayell, Chair of Trustees and lots of the team and volunteers too.
After a delicious lunch in Brightwell’s own Café, the team travelled to the Charcot Centre in Gloucester, where Bernard Elwen also joined them. This was a fantastic opportunity to have a look around, meet with Rachel, their Centre Manager and Josh Mason, who works for NTN as their Centre Support Administrator and is also based at the Charcot Centre.
Charcot has a Tesla Chair, which a number of Centres are looking to purchase. Bernard tried the therapeutic chair and was very impressed with the setup and procedures that Charcot uses.
After leaving Gloucester, they made the short journey to Stonehouse in preparation for the conference the following day. In the evening, the Trustees all met up for dinner and a chance to catch up on some NTN strategy work.

The following day, they stayed in the Stonehouse location to take part in the Nimble Community Conference and Awards Ceremony. Nimble is the company that produces the software for all the courses on the NTN Learning Management System, including our unique Oxygen Therapy Module.
The reason that NTN had been invited to the conference was that they were finalists in the Charity Champions category, as their Oxygen Therapy module had been nominated for an award. This was a tremendous honour for us to be nominated, as there are literally thousands of modules produced by Nimble each year across the business and charity sectors.
It was a fascinating day full of very exciting news about the development of the Nimble platform, which, when launched, will be very beneficial for all of our Centres.
Although we didn’t win our category, we were incredibly proud to have our Oxygen module highlighted and promoted.
